What exactly is an Affiliate?
In a nutshell, Affiliates are people that promote a product and earn money by doing so. It could be a banner on a page and if you click on it and spend any money on that site by playing a game or purchasing a product then the person who's banner that you clicked on will earn some money.
Please be aware that most sites will use affiliate banners and the like to actually fund the site itself, so a lot of that free information, games in forums with give-aways etc. is actually paid for by you clicking on those banners and using those sites. If they can't pay their server costs then the webmaster can't keep that fun site you enjoy open, so support them when they ask!
Many Affiliate Programmes are different, they pay differently, assist you different (if you are an Affiliate Member), and also have different rules, regulations on payment etc. What we will try to do in this area of the site is give examples of the different types of Affiliate Programmes in the Online Gaming World to help you with sorting out the chaff from the Hay.
Again, feedback would be appreciated as I obviously can't join every Affiliate Programme on the web, so send me your rant & raves, who is good and who isn't & why?
